Biblioigloo & Gaggia Park
If you are looking for a really special place where you can spend some precious family and educational time during your summer holiday with your children, you must not miss the Biblioigloo in Prati di Gaggia, surrounded by unspoiled countryside at an altitude of 1,333 m.
The Biblioigloo is a high altitude library shaped like an igloo which is free to use.
It was set up in 2014 and is open to adults and children of all ages. This unique facility is a joint venture by Funivie Valle Bianca, the company which manages the ski lifts, and Biblioteche della Paganella, the association of local libraries, with the support of the Dolomiti UNESCO foundation thanks to its combination of nature and culture. In these unique surroundings, you and your children can read books, magazines and comics, either in the sun-soaked meadows around the Biblioigloo or using a library card, available free of charge, to borrow and take them away,
Furthermore, on every day of the summer season, the library staff run cultural, artistic and nature workshops for children aged 3 and above, alongside original activities to help unleash the creativity of the youngsters, drawing on the mountains and scenery for inspiration. And there are also lots of inflatable toys, slides and strider bikes to play with!
*Places are limited on all workshops, booking is recommended by calling 0461 1636973.
